Dust Jacket Condition: Not applicable. 1st Edition. 5 parts of 6 Nos 1-5 in their original printed paper wrappers, with numerous illustrations taken directly from drawings by the author. The wrappers worn and edges lost due to the brittleness of the paper used. Very rare to find it in this format. Printed between October 1890 and February 1894, most likely to be met as two volumes with a date of 1895. These 5 parts Comprising part 1 October 1890 part 2 April 1891 Part 3 April 1892 Part 4 April 1893. part 5 February 1894. The 5 parts are mostly unopened and closed pages along the top folds the total number of pages are 638 + 43 plates mostly folding and illustrations in the text. Only part 3 has the wrappers remained intact and firm to the contents, the other four parts have worn wrappers as they are all on thin toned paper used in scientific magazines of the time (assumed they would always be bound in libraries) and have edge loss and back wrappers on two detached.
