Book Condition: Very Good; a solid, tight copy showing rubbing, light soiling and shelf wear to covers, shallow creasing to upper front and upper rear cover corners, slight loss to paper at head of spine, spine reinforced with a liquid adhesive that has toned with time; interior pages clean and bright. Overall a nice copy of a scarce and fragile publication.

Condition: very good. Luiz Alphonsus, Bares Cariocas, Edição FUNARTE, Rio de Janeiro, 1980. 240 x 80mm. Luiz Alphonsus's work can be seen to correspond to the conceptual art of Cildo Meireles. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Alphonsus made interventions in the landscape (with echoes of Richard Long's work); his most well-known work is Tunnel(69), in which he documented the events inside a Rio de Janeiro tunnel. Bares Cariocas is Alphonsus's only artist book, printed only in one edition. Condition: some general wear marks and foxing to covers, light foxing inside, apart from one spread of two pages that has some heavier foxing, no tears or major bumps. Overall vey good.
