[.]". - A prominent landscape painter of the Düsseldorf School, Lutteroth focused on Italian and Hamburg landscapes as well as alpine and forest scenery. He created three large paintings for the Hamburg Town Hall. In 1879 he… accompanied Crown Prince Frederick William and Crown Princess Victoria on their visit to San Remo, where he served as a tutor to Victoria, herself an amateur painter. - Traces of postmarks near upper left corner; a few tiny creases near left corners. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
