Substantial, picture-book format story about a cat's adventures in the wild. Although the author is Australian, and the book was first published in Australia, this tale takes place in the English countryside of the Cotswolds where the author lived for many years. She illustrated a number of notable children's books and also self-illustrated a previous, award-winning, picture book about an owl, "Uhu". The Australian edition of this book, and the UK edition from Collins, were both dated 1971, and although this edition is undated apart from that copyright date, I assume it is also from the same year. There's just a hint of browning around the prelims, but otherwise a fine copy in a very good dust jacket with very mild wear at extremities and a 2" closed tear at top of rear panel.
