Hardcover. Condition: New. Storrs-Mansfield, Connecticut: Maurizio Martino Publisher, 1996. 3 separate volumes, complete. BRAND NEW in perfect condition (just removed from the publisher's shrinkwrap so we could write this description). NO rubbing. NO fading. Bright, clean, square and tight. Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NO remainder mark. Fresh and crisp -- obviously never read. No date (but 1996, First Martino printing "strictly limited to 150 copies"). Reprint of the scarce 1931 edition that was issued in just 300 three volume sets. 1,451pp. Illustrated. A key Americana reference, especially for Georgia as a Colony and as a State, the South, and on certain aspects of the Confederate States of America. Described here are over 6,500 items, including virtually all important Georgia books between 1700 and 1929. Rare books and 18th century volumes are elaborately described by Dr. George Watson Cole, with the same meticulous level of detail he employed in his fabulous catalogue of the E. D. CHURCH Americana library (now at the Huntington Library). Because De Renne pursued everything that even touched upon Georgia, the collection also includes many books, maps, newspapers, and prints that are key to the history of exploration and settlement in surrounding areas, the Revolution, Cherokees and other Indians, the Confederacy and Civil War, Reconstruction, Florida and South Carolina history, plantation life, etc. All three volumes are uniformly bound in the original gilt-stamped green cloth. Dickinson 92: "a model of bibliographical accuracy and detail." Cannon 247-251. Besterman 2507. This heavy 3 volume set will require extra postage for Priority and International shipments. But for media mail, you pay only our standard charge for 1 volume and we ship the other 2 at no extra cost. First Martino printing, Limited 150 sets. Hardcover (heavy). New/No jackets, as issued. 3 vols: 1,451 total pages. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping. First Martino printing, Limited 150 sets.

Condition: Very Good. Part of a set of only forty copies, this copy is in very good condition. The book is printed on Linotype Granjon on Worth Hand & Arrows paper. It is a fascinating item for those interested in colonial American maps, as this is a special copy of a book detailing one of the most important early figures in American engraving.
