A very good set of 5 volumes (of 6?) of the first edition (presumed first printing of this collection of writings about British and European History. No Dust Jackets. Covers: green cloth covered boards with black lettering to fronts and spines; very bright and clean; few visible signs of shelf wear, slight rubbing to all edges commensurate with age and use, and some darkening to spines but overall very good for its age. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; very neat hand written owner's signature to front fly leaves with a neat hand painted design; no other markings inscriptions or book plates; overall in very good condition. Each volume separately paginated.
