Original navy cloth, gilt lettering cover & spine, small gilt decoration front cover, top edge colored yellow. The book has faded spine with faded spine lettering, small light spot on spine, foxing on first and last few pages but nearly all pages have no foxing, solid binding, old gift inscription dated 1927 on FFEP otherwise no owner marks or writing on any pages. LACKING the very uncommon dust jacket. The book measures 215mm tall x 137mm, and has 287 pages, 101 b/w photos, 2 maps, index. The author was a member of Peary's final North Pole expedition. In this book he describes his voyage along the east coast of Greenland in the Bowdoin 1923-24 and wintering at Etah. PHOTOS ARE OF ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
