The Abbey Collection, formed over more than fifteen years, ranked as one of the finest assemblies of illustrated printed books and fine bindings (especially British and French) in the world. It was sold progressively from 1965 onwards following Abbey's death. Most parts were issued in both Illustrated and Unillustrated Issues. The present series comprises: Part 1: 21-23 June 1965; Part 2: 14-16 November 1966; Part 3: 19-21 June 1967; Part 4: 6 November 1967; Part 5: 2 June 1970; Part 6: 19 October 1970.

Complete set of the illustrated catalogue of theAbbey collection which was one of the finest libraries to be auctioned in London in the '60-'70s. It was very strong in exceptional bindings (Part I-IV contain 147 plates of bindings h.t.) and mediaeval manuscripts. Major Abbey owned almost all the manuscripts of the former Hornby collection (Part 8 & 9 comprise 68 manuscripts of this collection).
