VD18 15327949 (nennt irrig 33 statt 34 Kupferstiche und `Pfaffel` statt Pfeffel); Gier/Janota 835 u. 1267 - Beinahe komplette Passions-Kupferstichfolge in kontrastreichen Abzügen von Johann Andreas Pfeffel d. Ä. (1674-1748). Pfeffel war ein Kupferstecher und Kunstverleger, der sich nach seiner Ausbildung in Wien und der Verleihung des Titels `Hofkupferstecher` in Augsburg niederließ. Er hatte ein breit gefächertes Verlagssortiment, so publizierte er u. a. Architekturfolgen, Ansichtswerke, Ornamentvorlagen, aber auch illustrierte Erbauungsliteratur. 1723 versah er das 1693 zuerst auf Französisch erschienene Werk `Christlicher Buß-Monath` von Antoine Montagnon mit 33 Kupferstichillustrationen, der Druck erfolgte bei Johann Jakob Lotter d. Ä. Es fehlen zwei Kupferstiche, einer zeigt Christus und seine Jünger beim letzten Abendmahl (zwischen Seite 18/19 eingebunden), der andere die Ecce-homo-Darstellung (zwischen Seite 82/83 eingebunden). Gewicht in Gramm: 500.
