Collated, complete with seventy-six engraved plates, including a folding map, as well as numerous in-text engravings. Offering a comprehensive history of Egypt, from the Arab's conquest to the French expedition. With the Arab's Conquest portion written by Jean-Joseph Marcel, a French printer and engineer who was also a savant who accompanied Napoleon's 1798 campaign in Egypt as a member of the Commission des Sciences et des Arts. This is accompanied by Modern Egypt under French Rule by Amedee Ryme and Under the Rule of Mehemet Aly by "MM. P. et H.". Bound in half crushed morocco, with paper covered boards and marbled endpapers. Externally, with rubbing to the extremities, with front joint starting but firm. Slight darkening to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with only a couple minor handling marks to the endpapers. Very Good. Not Stated (illustrator). book.
