Swami Narayanananda teaches that whenever possible, brahmacharya should be practiced and encourages those living a family or householder life to have a regulated sexual life. Mind control makes the mind pure, subtle and one-pointed so one can get a glimpse of the true Self. The three main practices to achieve mind control are: 1. Living a pure, simple, and holy (ethical) life, 2. Mantra-jap: repetition of the mantra, 3. Meditation: constantly taking the Divine name (mantra) and living in the Divine Form.
