Not in Sadleir or Wolff; the latter has one title by Hamilton Marshall, Men Were Deceivers Ever, 2 vols 1872 without recording the author's real name. Country house adventures & sensation: 'To cause death is perfect life'. Balfour-Browne, 1845-1921, Scottish writer, whose manuscripts (but not for this novel) are in NLS. He also used the pseudonym Max Hillary; Wolff has one title, at Hillary, Once for All, again without realising it is a pseudonym.
