Menschenscheu folgte er seiner Vision, in den Kastanienbäumen des Waldes, die sein Haus umgaben,… unter freiem Himmel eine Enzyklopädie zu errichten, die alles Wissen dieser Welt versammeln sollte. Er hängte beschriebene kleine Tafeln, meist Deckel von Konservendosen in die Bäume. Mit dem vorliegenden Buch, der Arbeit, in der Lüscher Gespräche mit dem Künstler Armand Schulthess aufzeichnete, darunter auch von lebensbedrohlichen Situationen bei diesen Begegnungen berichtet, kam Lüscher auf die documenta 1972. Es wurde bald zum Kultbuch, der Einsiedler wurde nach seinem Tod berühmt und erhielt viele internationale Ausstellungen. Das Originalbuch hier als Faksimile in einem Schuber, zusammen mit einem neuem Band. Darin ist nachzulesen, wie es mit seinem Wald später weiterging. Man findet darin unveröffentlichte Fotos, und er enthält verschiedene Texte u.a. von einer Philosophin, deren Überlegungen bis in heutige Pandemie-Zeiten reichen, von einem Kunsthistoriker, der Schulthess' Werk - wie auch das der Autorin - einordnet, von einem Max-Frisch-Experten (denn Frisch formte den Protagonisten eines seiner Bücher) und von einem Psychoanalytiker, der erklärt, warum Schulthess, der Eremit, nicht geistesgestört war. Die Zeitung „L'Eco di Auressio" versammelt ausgewählte Berichte aus den den Jahren 1965 bis 1976.
