From the preface: "Our local group of the Ukrainian Women's Association of Lesia Ukrainka, Dauphin Branch, was organized in the year 1929. Our efforts are mainly concentrated on the preservation of our heritage, language, culture and culinary arts, which, hopefully, will be passed on to future generations. We have also enhanced our community with traditional songs, dances, cuisine and handicrafts (i.e., embroidery, Easter eggs, weaving, etc.) and a general involvement in local projects.".
