Includes memoirs by Sue Scullard, Elly Robinson, Miranda Mott and Andrew Davidson. A wonderful tribute to this accomplished artist of many talents. A leading wood engraver of the late twentieth century, Yvonne Skargon is particularly known for her landscapes, cats and an innate love of flowers and gardens. Taught by John O'Connor and Blair Hughes-Stanton at Colchester School of Art, she worked at Cowell's in Ipswich, before establishing her printmaking, and later a teaching career. A gifted typographer, she also produced 375 book jacket designs. FP105.

One of an edition of 235 copies of which 45 include an extra portfolio of original proofs made by Yvonne (or printed for her by Sebastion Carter in 2004) housed in a solander box. Bound in quarter cloth and marbled paper made by Alex West at Compton Marbling, with a paper label on the spine. Narrow Folio, 13¾" x 9", pp. [1-8] 9-133 [illustrated] [blank] [colophon] [7 blank], fully illustrated, including four 'fold-out' illustrations and five tipped-in photographs, as well as many engravings and watercolours within the text, some full-page. A book in Fine condition, now housed in a slipcase by Christopher Shaw.
