NOTABLE PROVENANCE: Bears the stamp of the Cercle Polyglotte, Hôtel Ravenstein, Bruxelles — one of Brussels' most distinguished intellectual clubs of the Belle Époque period. Binding: contemporary half leather (green), marbled boards, gilt title on spine. Age-appropriate wear consistent with 128 years of age. Interior generally clean. An important primary document of Belgian colonial history and of the 1897 Brussels World Fair.
