There are 465 period pictures, most never before published, of Texas Rangers made during their "badge-toting" days. In addition to biographical sketches of each of these men, there are numerous pictures of the gear they used - their guns, badges, holsters, hand cuffs, leg irons, boots, hats, leather cuffs, chaps, spurs, saddles, etc. A few of the more notable rangers included in this study are John Coffee Hays, Ben McCulloch, William Alexander "Big Foot" Wallace, John R.
