Haller in seinen disp. chir. select. in den 50er Jahren des 18. Jh. einem größeren Leserkreis zugänglich machte und die nach seinen eigenen Worten den Schmuck seines 2. Bandes ausmachten. 'Maucharts Dissertationen vermählen die Lehre der Alten mit den Beobachtungen der Neueren; sie vereinigen große Belesenheit mit gesundem Urtheil.'. (Hirschberg § 413). Sie stellen die Bausteine zu einem deutschen Lehrbuch der Augenheilkunde dar, das noch längere Zeit auf sich hat warten lassen (vgl. Hirschberg). - Leicht braunfl.
