paperback. Condition: Acceptable. Please see the condition note after this for details, if this is missing please consider Acceptable to mean poor quality that could include major staining, water damage, writing, missing dustjacket, etc etc. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.…

Hardback. Condition: Fine. Signed by Connie Pnedleton and Mayo Sturdevant Stuntz, In excellent condition, No writing or highlighting, book is crisp and clean. inquire for photos or more details. 100% satisfaction guarantee. --- Compiled by Connie Pendleton Stuntz and published in 1998 by Hallmark in Gloucester Point, Virginia, this volume reproduces 490 photographs drawn from the glass-plate negatives of J. Harry Shannon, who wrote as "The Rambler" for the Washington Sunday Star in the early twentieth century. Shannon's weekly columns, appearing between 1900 and 1927, documented the landscapes, buildings, and people of Virginia during his travels through the state. While some of his images accompanied the original newspaper pieces and a portion have surfaced in reprints over the decades, a substantial number of the plates gathered here had remained unpublished, in several cases unseen even by Shannon himself. The book combines the photographic record with descriptive material, functioning as both a pictorial history of Virginia in the first quarter of the twentieth century and a record of Shannon's work as a traveling journalist and photographer. Issued in hardcover. Signed by Author.…
