Hardcover. Condition: new. Marinic (illustrator). Hardcover. School is starting and the coronavirus is still in the community. Maria, an elementary school student, is worried about what it will be like to go back to school after staying at home for so long. As the first day of school approaches, Maria and her mom discuss the parts of school that will be the same and also new rules that were created to keep kids safe. They also talk about how Maria is feeling, what she is thinking, and what she can do during this time of transition. School in the Time of the Coronavirus is a must-read children's book for all elementary school kids, their parents and teachers preparing for the return to school in the fall of 2020. Written by Emily Mazzulla, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist, expert in the field of trauma and resilience, and mother of three, this beautifully illustrated book gives children, parents and teachers a relatable format to talk about the transition back to school. A useful reference for building resilience in children is provided at the end of the story to support adults with this transition too! Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Fred and Jo Mazzulla (Self Publishers), Denver Colorado, "Brass Checks and Red Lights, "Honi Soil Qui Mal y Pense" Being a Pot Pourri of (Historical) Prostitutes, Parlor Houses, Professors, Procuresses and Pimps" by Fred and Jo Mazzulla, 1966, (1977). Soft Cover, No DJ. Book is in Very Good condition with cover being made of heavy card stock, stapled in two spots with the sturdy, metal staples. Has some light soiling and discolor, along with some minor spine and edge wear only. Inside front cover reads "Oh, the lust for mountain gold dust, Brought us lusty mountain men, Who through lust for mountain' women. Quickly lost their gold again. E.L.". Then we have the title page, then copyright page which included two rectangular black and white photo's of various "ladies available". Next page has a Foreword by the authors who explain how over a period of about 25 years they did collect various and sundry photo's, negatives, tape recordings, advertising, and stories from many former "ladies of the night" and others from the American West, and how this is their attempt to tell these stores through the photos and voices of the people and places that made it what it was. The truth, good and bad. And also what the "Brass checks" are and how the "red light districts" did get that name. The book has dozens of interesting photos and a few color advertisements. Each photo has a full caption explaining who and what are contained in each one. Storied characters such as "Diamond Lil" and "Jennie Rogers" along with many more, both serving black and white communities of men there for the Gold Rush. Names, dates, places and more. A very interesting "history" book! Inside book is clean, tightly bound, no flaws or markings noted.
