"One Lord, One Faith, One Cornbread" is a countercultural anthology co-edited by Fred Nelson and Ed McClanahan, collecting stories, essays, and photographs from the 1960s and early 1970s. Contributors include Ken Kesey, L. J. Davis, Vic Lovell, Speer Morgan, Richard Brautigan, Judy Rascoe, Gurney Norman, Wendell Berry, Ed McClanahan, and Fred Nelson. Ed McClanahan (1932-2021) was an American novelist and essayist associated with the Kentucky "Merry Prankster" writers, best known for "The Natural Man" (1983) and his memoir "Famous People I Have Known" (2003). Fred Nelson was closely tied to the University of Kentucky literary community, where he taught creative writing and edited student and regional publications. He worked alongside figures like Gurney Norman and Ed McClanahan, part of the "Kentucky Mavericks" or "Merry Prankster" circle associated with Kesey and the West Coast countercultural movement.
