Spine is very similar with addition of the publisher, back cover is blank. All covers and spine are sprinkled with absence of the red coloring for a nice appearance but not original. One dark smudge midway down the front cover. Light shelf wear. Beautiful marbleized end pages in gold and white, former owner's name is inside the front cover and end page in ink and pencil. Signature of author is on the dedication page but I am unable to tell if it is written or printed. 58 pen and ink style illustrations, 22 chapters. John T. McCutcheon (illustrator).
