First edition. 254pp. Binding slightly cocked, endleaves and edges slightly foxed, very good in a slightly foxed very good dust jacket with some rubbing on the spine and modest edgewear including a nick at one fold. Inscribed by the author on the front fly: "With… best regards From Thomas Melady 6/12/64." George and Jean Houser's copy with their ownership signature also on the front fly. George Houser was a minister, civil rights activist, and activist for the independence of African nations. In 1942, with James Farmer and Bernice Fisher, he cofounded the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) in Chicago.
