Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 2nd Edition. COWBOY-FISHERMAN-HUNTER BY L.C. MERSFELDER 1951 + PROMOTIONAL STUFF & DJ. I am pleased to be able to offer a very nice book about enjoying the outdoors by someone who knew how to do it and did it himself. Please consider: Cowboy-Fisherman-Hunter- True Stories of the Great Southwest, by L.C. (Larry) Mersfelder. There is a promotional letter about the book taped onto the front endpaper, part of which reads: Here s a little tip. Put this book where young boys will get their hands on it. It s the sort of stuff that builds character. It s good reading for your boys and my boys. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 x 9 inches, 271 pages) was published by the Brown-White-Lowell Press of Kansas City, Missouri, dated 1951, and as the brochure which is paste-down on the second blank page, says: New, Enlarged Edition More Pictures-More Thrills. The book is bound in salmon-colored hard covers with gilt decorations and titles on the cover and spine and is protected by a printed paper dusk jacket. There is a lengthy, hand-written inscription, signed by the Author on the front endpaper. Condition: This book is in good condition. The dust jacket is a bit battered, with a fair amount of edge wear and an inexpertly taped tear on the front cover. The hard covers are about rubbed and bumped, with loss of finish and tarnished gilt decorations and titles. The same now brown tape used to repair the tear on the dust jacket was used to paste-down the promotional letter about the book on the front endpaper. The page on which the promotional brochure about the book is attached is also beginning to split off the binding. The interior pages and photos are clean and bright. A number of pages appear less than well attached at places where the binding is split but they are still hanging-in there. The rear hinge is split and the webbing is showing and the cover feels loose, as does the front cover which is still well-attached at the hinge. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Inscribed by Author.
