Boards have a dent in the fore edge of the rear panel which also has two small but very heavy dents to the surface of the rear panel with these matched by holes in the surface of the jacket. Page edges browned with some dark spotting to the top edges and scattered light spotting to the fore edges and bottom edges. Browning to the left edge of the rear free endpaper. There is an odour to the book - probably from a smoker's home - but the pages are otherwise unmarked. Jacket has heavy fading to the spine and a little edge rubbing. This book was published just after the Mill had been donated to the Cape Town Historical Society and just as they began its restoration. It is now a central historic site in the city. The covers are scuffed, a little worn and rubbed. They are sure. The leather corners and spine are lightly worn and hand-polished. The titling is assured. Inside, the front and end papers appear to be 'new'. These are marked from handling and storage. The contents have evidence of ownership and storage throughout.
