The numbering of the volumes is illogical in the beginning years up to about 1971. "After Dark" was originally "Ballroom Dance Magazine" which ended with its volume 9, #4. The new magazine's first issue continued the numbering of the previous magazine and so issue #1 is stated as volume 10, #1. By the third year of the magazine they changed the numbering from volume 13 to volume 3, #9. A fine magazine of arts, stage, dance and music that bridged the gap between gay and straight readers in the 1970s-80s.

The book would be fine save for shelf wear along bottom of boards and text block, slight translucent spotting of front lower text block. Else book is free of internal marking, spine is tight, boards rigid…and tips are pointed. While the jacket has its price on the back flap, it has general wear all over, loss and small chipping at most edges, especially along spine and at top and bottom of spine. Actually looks quite smart in its shiny new plastic cover. Shipping box is suitable for wrapping with a non-price listed purchase order inside along with biodegradable packing.

Contact seller5-star sellerVintage borderless reference photograph of director and actor Dennis Hopper with cameraman László Kovács during filming on location for the 1971 film. Annotations in manuscript ink on the verso. From the archive of film historian and author Joel Finler. A stunt coordinator filming on location in a small Peruvian village believes… he has found paradise, but soon discovers a strange and violent cargo cult which has formed among the locals. In spite of his ongoing battle with substance abuse, director Dennis Hopper was granted full creative control over the film after his unexpected success with "Easy Rider" in 1969. The film's massive failure, which became the stuff of legend, essentially ended Hopper's directorial career in Hollywood for the better part of the ensuing decade, until "Out of the Blue" in 1980. Set and shot on location in Peru. 7 x 9.5 inches. Near Fine. Pitts 2199.
