Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. A fine copy of this play by Spike Milligan and John Antrobus. 8vo hardback in glossy photographic dustwrapper. 73pp plus 8pp of photos. Contains a double page photographic illustration of the stage setting for Act Two plus six other photographic plates including Spike Milligan as Mate. One long crease to inner front flap and top edges a little dusty, else everything perfect. The blurb on the back cover states: "The play was first performed at the Mermaid Theatre in London on the 31st January 1963. It had great success, transferring to the Duke of York's Theatre on 20th March and on to the Comedy Theatre in July. There was enough demand for it to re-open at the Mermaid on the 19th October 1966 from whence it set out to tour round the country. It has now been made into a film directed by Dick Lester. The content of the play, which describes the events following the change of Lord Fortnum into a Bedsitting Room after the nuclear holocaust, defies description, and the publishers therefore consider it best if you buy a copy and simply read it, or ask at your library, or borrow it, but best of all, buy it because if you borrow it you won't give it back, and you'll feel guilty and you'll lose a friend or get fined so buy it and read it. Fot the information of people who have turned into computors the Standard Book Number is SBN 851380123" !! Scarce in this fresh, unread condition and of gift quality.
