Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 2nd Edition. One of the publisher's New Thought Library series of books. Revealingly, the flap copy of the dust jacket lists other titles - 'uniform with this Volume' - such as Astrology, A Manual of Hypnotism, Hand-reading etc. The dust jacket, while in a sound overall state for its age, has had a diamond shaped section at the middle of the spine cut out - see image (note the similarity to the Acquisitiveness Phrenal Organ shape in the cover diagram). There is also some edgewear and fading in places. The pea green cloth boards with red titles and Greek facial profile are in a strong condition with only a slight crease mark towards the bottom left-hand corner of the upper board. Condition (internal): pages are fairly tanned throughout; especially at the page margins. The main condition-related points to note are the following: (i) the frontispiece portrait (signed yours faithfully by the author - presumed to be printed) has become detached from the book block. (ii) the table of phrenological organs (in chapter III) has been carefully enumerated in pencil (1-42 organs of the brain) - see image. Crown 8vo. 120 pp. Illustrated. Please note that, depending on destination etc, we may request a payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2508.
