First and only edition. 8vo. Numerous illustrations throughout. 8vo. Original printed wrappers, light browning and minor wear, a few marginal paper-flaws, but overall still a very good copy. 48pp. Shanghai, Xuzhu Chubanshe [i.e. Huzhu Chubanshe], February This is an extremely important Communist publication defining the ideolog…ical and strategic goals for the Anti-Japanese National United Front ? "Our Way Out" which became a rallying call in the Chinese Communist Party's stance against Japanese aggression. This book was a compilation of political essays and documents by various authors. It was published by the Mutual Aid Press, which was a major outlet for Communist publications in Shanghai. The author is given as Minkiao (Minjiao) which was the pseudonym of Sun Yong (1902-1983), a prominent Chinese writer and translator. The use of Latinised Chinese for the text is tied to the Sin Wenz (New Writing) movement, which was initially developed together with Russian linguists in the late 1920s to combat illiteracy but later aimed to facilitate war-time communication. The present is volume 5 in a series of small magazines dealing with Communist issues worldwide. The present is vol. 5 of a series called 'Womndi Cungshu (Our Series)'. No copy in OCLC.
