Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 5th or later Edition. This interesting old book is "Kant - Sein Leben und seine Lehre" by Professor Moritz Kronenberg. This copy was owned by Hamilton Professor of German, Robert Browning, and has his penciled signature on the front free end-paper. The book was published in Munich in 1922, by C. H. Beck. This is the 6th Revised Edition. The text is entirely in old Black Letter German. Professor Browning penciled in some marginal notes and did a bit of underlining. This marginalia is fairly brief, and does not appear often in the book. How nice to have this old book that once was used by Professor Browning, who was esteemed for his knowledge of German literature, and admired by his students. Kronenberg was a German-Jewish philosopher and cultural historian, known for his studies of German idealism, and his critical essays on ethics and modern philosophy. His work on Kant was esteemed by the academic community. Rather than being tenured, he worked independently as a scholar and public intellectual.
