Jahrhundert in ganz Europa berühmte Werk behandelt das Gesamtgebiet der Artillerie, basierend auf chemischen, physikalischen, metallurgischen oder mathematischen Grundlagen, darunter Pulverbereitung, Schmelz- und Gießöfen, Maschinen zum Bohren und Abdrehen der Geschütze, Kanonenrohre, Haubitzen und Mörser, verschiedene Arten Lafetten, Munitionswagen etc. - Die dekorativen Tafeln mit entsprechenden Abbildungen sind überaus sorgfältig und fein gestochen sowie sehr gut erhalten. - Morla (1748-1812) hat an der Academia de Artillería in Segovia studiert und als Leutnant der Artillerie abgeschlossen. 1780 nahm er an der Belagerung von Gibraltar teil, wurde Flottenkommandeur und übernahm später die Leitung einer Bergbaumine in Gibraltar. Nachdem er von einer schweren Verwundung genesen war, besuchte er verschiedene europäische Militärakademien, um die Fortschritte in Ballistik und Artillerie zu studieren. Von 1800 bis 1808 wirkte er als Gouverneur von Cádiz und wurde General in Andalusien. Während der napoleonischen Kriege handelte er die Kapitulation von Madrid aus und galt von da an in Spanien als Verräter. - Tafelband mit zwei vertauschten Textblättern.
