Ca 1870s / 1880s. Recto with supplemental penciled note, under image identification note: "First Grand Prize of the South Western Gift Association / Value $5000.00 [flourish]". Image oriented horizontally. 2-1/2" x 3-15/16" Morris setted in Fort Scott Kansas in November, 1865, residing there in 1874, when he accepted a position of Registrar of the U. S. Land Office in Larned, Kansas. While in Fort Scott, he served as county treasurer, and later as Kansas State Adjutant-General. General signs of use, overall Very Good. Now housed in an archival mylar sleeve.
