This book investigates the role of Great Britain in the American Civil War, focusing on the provision of coal to Confederate ships in British ports. The author argues that Britain's failure to prevent this activity violated its neutrality and contributed to the Confederacy's ability to wage war. The author examines the legal and diplomatic aspects of the issue, as well as the broader historical context of the war. By analyzing the complexities of neutrality and the impact of external support on a conflict, this book provides valuable insights into the nature of warfare and international relations in the 19th century.
