Publisher's devices on title pages, including 1671 title page. Historiated headpieces and initials. Persian title pages and portraits of Shah and his father at rear. Under the patronage of her Imperial Highness Princess Ashraf Pahlavi. Pahlavi commemorative Reprint Series, published on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the coronation of Reza Shah the Great. The book is reprinted from a copy in the Central Library of Teheran University. Jean Chardin was a French jeweler and traveler. He is considered to have produced the finest work on Persia and the Near East with "The Travels of Sir John Chardin." Text in French. light wear along edges of binding, slightly chipped along front joint. Binding in overall good+, interior in very good condition.
