Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Very rare 1896 first edition (SD, NAP). You can see the covers in the photos. The intricate design on the front cover is in excellent condition. However, there is discoloration off the middle edge of the front and rear cover. The gilt lettering on the front and spine is nicely bright. The… cover edges are in solid shape. Same goes for the cover corners. The spine ends have only a little bit of crinkling. The top page edge is gilt. The middle and bottom page edges are deckled or rough-cut. The book is square and the spine looks pretty straight. The half-title page is detached at the juncture with the front end paper, but only over the bottom 1 5/8 inches. The rest of the page is tightly bound. Sort of the opposite on the next page, the frontispiece, where it is detached at the juncture, except over the bottom 1 inch, so it isn't detached and probably won't be if handled gently. I've gone through all the rest of the pages and haven't found any instances with a similar issue. The pages are solidly bound throughout. I didn't see any instances of a crack or space between any of the facing pages or between the inside covers and any other page. The covers are tightly bound. The frontispiece page has a tissue guard bound in protecting it. The tissue guard is very clean. It does have one pinprick-sized hole. The frontispiece is in excellent condition. All of the pages are in very nice condition. They are semi-glossy. They are very clean, I saw only a few light spots in total, none on the print. The pages are also nicely bright. There are a good number of small illustrations throughout. They are all in excellent condition. I didn't see any significant creasing, no placeholder creases. There is a tiny crease just above the bottom corners of three consecutive pages. There is a light crinkle off the middle edges of a number early pages, not touching the print or any of the illustrations. There is a light bit of foxing on the blank front end paper and on the half-title page. Nothing after that. The rear inside cover and rear end paper also have some foxing, but none before that, none in the text. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere.

Condition: Acceptable. First Edition. Whats to say about this book? Its in great condition for its age. But its starting to show it. First few pages are becoming loose and an old personalization is written on first blank page. Cover is bright and gilded but it is showing spots of discoloration. Over all a nice book! Tulsa's larg…est used bookstore. Located on South Mingo Road since 1991. No-hassle return policy if not completely satisfied.
