Date determined from the contents with 1955 being the latests. I have been unable to locate any towns with these names in Canada and have come to believe that they are actually the names of districts identified for homesteading. In any case, the area is that around Saskatoon with the names, Hanley, Moose Jaw, Regina and the like cropping up again and again in the narratives. These are the firsthand observations of those who homesteaded in this area in their own words. "This history was compiled to honor the original homesteaders, and to tell their story in their own words so far as was possible. In some, the son or daughter wrote for parents who had passed on, and where there was no family, or the homesteader could not be located, we have written from records available, and with the aid of pioneers still living in the district. Dates and names have been checked carefully and to the best of our knowledge are correct." [from the front matter] Just a mine of information about this area in the early 1900s and a "must have" for anyone whose family settled in the area. The hundreds of names found here are far too numerous to list.
