Hardcover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: None, As Issued. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. 1 pages. Published in 2012. Rare Vik Muniz collectible item. A pristine copy of "The White Iris, After Edward Weston, 2012" original print, signed by Vik Muniz. The print measures 6 X 6 inches. Enclosed in its own inner prote…ctive plastic sheet and outer cardboard flat box. Processed on FujiColor paper. Eminently suitable for framing. Without DJ, as issued. Presents, in a collectible format, Vik Muniz's "The White Iris, After Edward Weston, 2012". One of the photographer's most ingeniously crafted, romantic, and beautiful images. It perfectly captures Vik Muniz's practice and aesthetic. "I used 'The Daybooks of Edward Weston', and Weston's photograph of his lover, Tina Modotti, when invited by Aperture in 2011 to make a new piece inspired by a publication from Aperture's history. Most of my work is about the bits and parts, the mechanisms and gears, that make an image work. For this picture, I remade Weston's image of Modotti by using Weston's words, torn out of a copy of 'The Daybooks' " (Vik Muniz). An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Vik Muniz collectors. This original print is very prominently and beautifully signed in black ink-pen on verso by Vik Muniz. It is signed directly on the print itself, not on a tipped-in page or bookplate. This title is a contemporary classic. As far as we know, this is the only such signed copy of the print available online, is enclosed in its own inner protective plastic sheet and outer cardboard flat box, and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Vik Muniz prints command many thousands of dollars. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A rare signed print thus. 1 original print. One of the greatest artist/photographers of our time. A fine collectible print. Signed by Author.

Contact seller4-star sellerCondition: Excellent. Geneva: Coromandel Press. With 6 original gelatin silver prints, each signed and dated on the verso and tipped into window mounts.Loose as issued in cloth-backed folder, with chemise. The book is presented in a dark-green paper folder inspired by old school notebooks. Edition of 50.The Brazilian artist Vik…Muniz had been collecting artificial flowers for many years and had even fabricated some himself from paper. For this book, he selected a series of images that evoke an old herbaria of the 18th century, an era during which amateur botany became a fertile aristocratic entertainment. At first glance, the photographs appear to be of these classical representations. However, after observing the image more closely, the reader can detect the reflection of a piece of plastic or the paperâs texture. Challenging our faculty of perception is a central element in the work of Muniz. The photographs were enriched, in the printing process, with sepia and gold tones to emphasize their similarity to old prints. The typography is a post-modern reinterpretation of the over-ornate fonts of the 18th century. Vik Muniz (illustrator).
