The book was published by Franklin Publishing and Supply Company in 1951 and does appear to be a First Edition but is not specifically stated as such. It IS an ex-library copy, has no dust jacket, and is in good + condition. The book is 6 1/2" by 8 3/4" and has 244 pages with an Index, a Table of Contents, Suggested Questions and Supplementary Reading Material listed at the end of each chapter and black-and-white illustrations throughout the book.
