Hardcover. Condition: Good. Eighth Edition. There is shelf wear on the cloth, with spots of staining concentrated on the upper portion of the front cover, some smudging & light staining on the back cover, fading of the cloth on the spine with a couple spots of discoloration, a somewhat cocked spine resulting in slight bowing & skewing of the covers & pages, bumped corners, foxing on the text block, yellowed pages, slightly impacted binding, light staining on the back side of the map showing the Indian mutiny, light tearing & creasing the outer edges of a few of the map inserts, some toning on the end pages & insides of the covers, & light toning on the back sides of a couple panels of the map in back, with a few light tears on the intersections on its folds; the book has aged remarkably well & is otherwise in good condition with clean print, secure pages, & beautiful maps.

Maps are all present and in perfect shape except for map between pages 122-23, which has a fist sized piece torn out (can be easily taped). Covers show light smudging, a few minor scuffs to spine, light wear to corners. otherwise a very nice copy, clean and attractive, with a tight binding, clean pages.

Includes a folding plan of Oxford, a plan of Windsor castle and a folding map of Berks, Bucks and Oxfordshire in a pocket at the rear of the book. All present as called for. 7/6 price in gilt on the spine. 4.75 X 7 inches. Very good sound copy. a bit rubbed around with a little wear to the cloth at the corners. The cloth is all quite sound, particularly along the sides of the spine where these books are prone to wear and splitting. Again inside all quite sound and in good order, There is some splitting to the endpapers along the hinges, but not so much as to weaken the binding which is quite sound and firm. The cloth is a bit age soiled, and there is an armorial bookplate on the front free endpaper from a previous owner.
