Hardback. Condition: Good. Who cares what Jesus did?

This may well be the response of many to the title of this book. Some may shrug it off because of a general disbelief in God, or a refusal to believe that Jesus could actually be the Incarnate Word, i.e., the eternal Son of God who became man. Others may acknowledge that Jesus is an inspiring moral teacher, and yet find some of his hard sayings (Jn. 6:60) too onerous to live and/or far-fetched to accept. Still others may be turned off by a history of bad experiences with professed Christians, and so see Jesus as a polarizing figure. Further, there are Christians who believe in Jesus as their Savior, but who disagree that he founded the Catholic Church. And there can be overlap among these different reasons.

In What Did Jesus Do? Tom Nash seeks to present anew the real Jesus, the Word [who] became flesh (Jn. 1:14) to save all of humanityand to employ his Mystical Bride, the Catholic Church, as his instrument of salvation and life-transforming love (Mt. 16:18-19; Jn. 10:10). Nash makes various biblical and other historical arguments for the perennial relevance of Jesus and his Church, including that anti-Catholicism makes for the strangest of bedfellows, with many unexpectedly finding the devil and his devotees lining up with them against the Church.

As Nash summarizes well, if the Catholic Church were merely a human institution, she would've entered the dustbin of history centuries ago, both because of internal scandals and external persecutions. Instead, 2,000 years after the Resurrection, the Church continues to advance her God-given Great Commission (Mt. 28:18-20).…

Paperback. Condition: Good. This book argues that American colleges and universities need to enlarge their understanding of pluralism and multiculturalism by sponsoring open, challenging, spiritually and educationally revitalizing conversations among students about genuine religious difference. Although religious difference is a pivotal component of cultural pluralism, too often today it gets ignored, marginalized, or sugar-coated in higher education. Together administrators, faculty, and students must take the initiative to transform the academy into an exciting space for robust and respectful religious dialogue throughout the campus. This book offers a number of concrete examples and strategies in each chapter for achieving this objective. …

Paperback. Condition: Good. Voted one of Christianity Today's Books of the Year What is the fate of those who die never hearing the gospel? Do Hindus, Jews, agnostics and others who do not profess faith in Christ really suffer damnation after death? These and similar questions have long been contemplated by people from every religious persuasion and every walk of life. But in a culture of increasing diversity and growing doubt in the existence of "objective truth," it seems ever more pressing. In this Spectrum Multiview volume three scholars present the span of evangelical conviction on the destiny of the unevangelized. Ronald Nash argues the restrictivist position, that receptive knowledge of Jesus Christ in this life is necessary to salvation. Gabriel Fackre advocates divine perseverance, with the expectation that those who die unevangelized receive an opportunity for salvation after death. And John Sanders sets forth the inclusivist case--asserting that though God saves people only through the work of Jesus Christ, some may be saved even if they do not know about Christ. As each scholar presents his own case and responds to strengths and weaknesses of differing positions, readers are treated to a lively and informative debate. What About Those Who Have Never Heard? is a truly helpful book on one of today's--and every day's--most crucial questions. Spectrum Multiview Books offer a range of viewpointson contested topics within Christianity, giving contributors the opportunity to present their position and also respond to others in this dynamic publishing format.…
