Hardcover. Condition: Very Good-. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Originally issued in paperback, this copy has been rebound in brown quarter leather and brown cloth, the title is printed in bright gold on the leather spine and a name (probably either the owner or the binder) is printed at the bottom of the spine, the outer edge of the pages are marbled in dark red, the original paper front cover showing an airship flying over water is present as is the original rear cover, a large number of blank pages have been added after the end of the text and will be quite useful for notes, photos, etc. This is an ex-library copy with the following library markings: a small label on the front cloth cover, a card pocket on the blank rear end-paper, a bookplate on the blank front end-paper and a small oval library stamp on the original front cover, also written on the original front cover is "U. S. Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, N. J." The leather portion of the cover has moderate edge-rubbing, the binding is tight and clean and the contents are fine, nicely-illustrated with maps and photos along with a concise text, a brief, scarce and fascinating history that is probably unknown to many WWII students; 56 pages.
