Vooraanstaand Latijns dichter, humanist en rector van de Latijnse school (gymnasium) te Alkmaar. De Thalia Alcmariana is een bundel met latere gedichten uitgegeven door J. Janssonius a Waesberge en de weduwe van Elizaeus Weyerstraten. Thalia is de muze van komedie of poezie, dus 'bezongen' wordt de muze van Alkmaar. Hoewel zijn naam minder bekend is dat grote tijdgenoten, werd hij in zijn tijd zeer gewaardeerd. Mooi uitvouwbaar portret naar rechts van Reinier Neuhusius op 62-jarige leeftijd in een ovaal met randschrift in het Latijn. Onder het portret tien regels in het Latijn.
