Light bumping to edges and corners, with a small area of chipping to the blue surface color at the bottom edge of the rear cover near the spine. Light overall surface scuffing. Binding tight. Interior pages clean and unmarked. Catalog published in conjunction with the traveling exhibition Don Nice: A 20 Year Survey, organized by the Fine Arts Museum of Long Island and presented April 17 to June 12, 1985 at FAMLI, Hempstead, New York; October 13 to November 10, 1985 at the University of Oklahoma Museum of Art, Norman, Oklahoma; and November 17 to December 22, 1985 at the Springfield Art Museum, Springfield, Missouri. The catalog surveys approximately two decades of work by American artist Don Nice (born 1932), including painting, watercolor, collage, and mixed media constructions. Illustrated works range from large scale figurative and animal imagery to object based compositions and predella format panels, reflecting Nice's engagement with realism, symbolism, American vernacular imagery, and contemporary art discourse from the 1960s through the early 1980s. Includes critical and contextual essays as well as reference material documenting Nice's career at mid point.
