A noter une ancienne mouillure dans le coin inférieur 5 ou 6 des premiers feuillets, loin du texte (papier fragilisé en bordure).Les gardes blanches manquent. L'exemplaire mérite une habile restauration pour en faire un bel exemplaire en jolie condition d'époque. Edition originale rare. Le premier roi des Français, Pharamond Ier (420-429), etc. Le volume s'achève sur la date de 1515 et la mort du roi Louis XII et l'accession au trône de son cousin et gendre, François d'Angoulême, mari de la duchesse Claude de Bretagne, sous le nom de François Ier. Nicolas Vignier (1530-1596) was a French lawyer, historiographer and theologian. He was born in Bar-sur-Seine, in the modern-day department of Aube, France. He initially trained as a doctor; but after his conversion to Catholicism, became the personal historiographer to Henry III of France. After his death, his works were printed by his son, Nicolas Vignier Jr. This is an incredibly scarce work on the history of the church, from Jesus Christ's baptism until the fifteenth century.
