The japon covering of the binding is badly chipped and torn with loss, and the preliminary pages are foxed. Only a fair copy overall, but suitable as a reading, working or reference copy. Schnitger commemmorating the 600th anniversary of the installation of the first Majapahit King Gajah Mada, being the start of the Javanese golden Age. The second paper by W.O.J. Nieuwenkamp, with 2 full-page captioned monochrome plates after original drawings, is a critical note to a previous paper by Prof. Van Erp in the same journal, in which Nieuwenkamp defends his opinion that Borobudur is not more or less than Maitreya's giant Lotus-seat. Bothpapers following describe and illustrate the Siam Kingdom and so-called Moko's or bronze kettledrums (inclumplete). Very fine copy.
