Approved by the Parliament of England in 1644 and the Parliament of Scotland in 1645, the Directory is part of the Westminster Standards. It emphasizes a structure of worship based on Scripture and includes instructions for various elements such as preaching, prayer, and the administration of sacraments. The book is bound in the original dark purple cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and a black emblem on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some light soiling to the boards. The spine is faded and the spine ends are lightly bumped. The contents are tight and clean with a little light foxing to the half-title, title page and last two pages of the book. There is no inscription.…
