Promotional broadsheet for an oceanside development six miles south of Ocean City, Maryland on Assateague Island. This development, one of many proposed for this island before it became a state park in 1956 and a national seashore in 1965. Printed in blue and uncolored. Very good condition, with small separations at some fold junctions and short tears along folds at bottom with no loss of text area. The recto has a title "Facts about Atlantic City, Maryland Interesting to the Cottage Builder and Investor", with text in four columns describing the advantages and selling points for lots in the devlopment. This includes one column of testimonials for Ocean City, the closest comparable residential area. The verso is a map of the proposed layout of the town, with 5 parallel north-south avenues and 36 shorter east-west streets. The blocks are divided into lots, generally 20 lots per block. Many of the blocks, mostly towards the northern end, are designated as sold. There are several areas reserved for parks and hotels. This is an interesting look at a development which never took off.
