Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm Stereo record, Stang Records ST-1024, vinyl near mint in a near-mint jacket which has been opened but which nonetheless retains its original shrink wrap. Presumably the O'Jays did indeed "meet" the Moments, at some point, but this record presents no evidence they ever shared an actual recording studio, in which case we might have expected one or two cuts on which the two groups of male vocalists, you know, actually PERFORMED TOGETHER (as in the well-known recording of the joint television appearance of the Supremes and the Temptations, for instance.) Instead, it appears producers at Stang Records had five numbers by each group -- not enough to produce two separate LPs -- and so hit upon the tactic of simply alternating cuts. At any rate, we have here The Moments performing "What's Your Name", "Ride Your Pony Girl," and "Sugar Sugar", and the O'Jays performing "Peace" and "Be My Girl," etc. A fairly difficult disc to locate in collectible condition. Produced by Al Goodman and Harry Ray, who also share songwriting credits on "What's Your Name", "Sugar Sugar," and "Ride Your Pony Girl," which may or may not be a song about horsemanship. Reduced from $47.
