Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No date of publication given, but the previous owner, a Jewish fine arts books expert, Richard Leon Press, has guessed roughly 1930. Ze?ev Raban (22 September 1890 ? 19 January 1970), the illustrator here, was born Wolf Rawicki (Ravitzki), was, according to a Wikipedia entry about him, "a leading painter, decorative artist, and industrial designer of the Bezalel school style, and was one of the founders of the Israeli art world." Bound in what appears to be brown leatherette covers (previous owner said leather), and red-stained along all three edges. Copper-metal plate, stamped, is affixed underneath a cut-out border, effecting a raised illustration of a lounging lover of Solomon. 26 full-page tipped-in color plates with Hebrew text captions and English text translations facing in decorative black and white border. Front paste-down endpaper shows some loss of paper in overall decorative pattern but not much. Gift inscription at first of two half titles has a warm gift inscription dated from Sacramento, 1954. Interestingly, the signature employs "Zeev" as one of the names, but the first of the two names is illegible. Some rubbing to spine head and foot, front joints, else quite solid of exterior and arrestingly beautiful of interior.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.

(illustrator). Signed Letter and Photograph. Framed letter and photograph, maroon matte, black wood frame, full piece measures 20" x 16." Letter from the George Bush Office, signed in black pen by George H.W. Bush, dated February 3, 2011. Photograph of President Bush on his new scooter, with inscription: "To Mike Pfister with best wishes," - with a note added by President Bush "and many thanks, George Bush." A great post-presidential piece, with PSA certificate included. In later life, former President Bush suffered from vascular parkinsonism, a form of Parkinson's disease. He experienced increasing weakness in his legs after hip replacement surgery in 2007, eventually requiring the full-time use of a wheelchair or scooter by 2011. The full letter reads: "Dear Mike, Here is a photo showing one happy old guy on one great looking scooter. I love my scooters, and I can't thank you and Doug and Mark enough for your kindness and generosity. At age 86, almost 87, thoughtful gestures like this mean more to me than ever. With gratitude and warm regards, George Bush.". Signed.
