The book has some penciled marks to the text, a lean to the binding, light bumps to the spine ends and corners, areas of soiling and uneven toning across the covers and spine, reading creases to the front hinge, and foxing with a few spots and smudges to the edges of the text block. Overall, this is a solid, tight, Good copy.

The Fleischman novel is a paperback original. The Leonard novel is the first paperback edition - it was originally published in hard covers by Doubleday in 1951. This edition has been revised. Reading creasing and edge rubbing to the spine. There is some surface and edge creasing to the covers and a cross has been scratched on the woman in the Leonard cover illustration. Browning to the page edges with several small edge tears, some corner creasing and some corner chipping. The pages are browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. The cover illustration for the Leonard novel is by Victor Olson. First printing. Signed by Author(s).
